About Us

A bit about who we are, where we’ve been and where we’re going!

Welcome to For Abstract Sake!

We are Artsy Mama and  Mini Monet, a mother-daughter passion project where we explore and create all things abstract and wonderful for your home!

Founded in 2023, our abstract art venture combines 13 years of artistic expertise with a shared love for creativity. We specialize in bespoke abstract paintings, limited-edition prints, and commercial art products, all inspired by the beauty of nature and the human form. The world is simply too beautiful and magnificent not to celebrate!

A little bit about us… I’m Rebecca, a former full-time Art & Design teacher, and after years of juggling lesson plans and art projects, I’ve finally put down the teacher planner to follow my dream full-time! Armed with a BA in Textiles and Surface Design from The Northern School of Art, along with a BTEC in Fine Art and an AS in Photography, I’m thrilled to be dedicating myself to For Abstract Sake and expanding our business.

My partner in creativity is my daughter, Mya-Jane, whom I like to call my “Mini Monet.” At just 12 years old, she’s wonderfully talented and a constant source of inspiration! Though she’s just started secondary school and will be focusing more on her studies and social life, she’ll still contribute to our business whenever she can. Our little venture has brought us closer, and together we experiment with a vast range of mixed media and techniques to produce meaningful, vibrant, and abstract art.

For Abstract Sake is now a full-time venture where we create bespoke abstract paintings and prints in a variety of sizes and surfaces. Drawing from my background in surface design, I blend a wide array of materials, mixed media, and textured elements to create rich, immersive artworks. My passion for mark-making and experimentation fuels each piece, where I often incorporate 3D techniques for added depth and intrigue.

Together, our art seeks to capture the everyday beauty around us, weaving together female portraits with symbolic elements like wings and birds to represent freedom and elevation. These motifs reflect both my personal journey and our artistic vision, inviting viewers to explore the hidden meanings and stories within each piece. Through symbolism and immersive techniques, our work encourages deep reflection, offering a different interpretation for every observer.

Art has always been my outlet, especially since losing my mum at a young age, and this personal connection to my craft has driven my desire to share it with others.

We’re always expanding our horizons and introducing new art forms into merchandise to suit a variety of customer needs.

Thank you for visiting Artsy Mama & Mini Monet! We’re excited to share our artistic journey with you. Come dance, sing, laugh, and enjoy life with us as we embark on a vibrant journey of creative expression through art! Our videos are a playful mix of fun, silliness, and beauty, showcasing our unique bond, behind-the-scenes peeks into our creative process, and the magic of our small yet magnificent art space. Join us as we blend laughter with the love of art, turning every moment into a colorful masterpiece!
